Painted Boat 12849 Lagoon Rd, Madeira Park, BC

Project Description

Located on the waterfront in Pender Harbour (often referred to as the “Venice of the North”) the site is within a 5-minute walk of the Madeira Park town centre. One of the key principles for design has been respect for, and integration with, the natural environment. One of the core strategies has been to minimize the overall footprint of the built areas and locate buildings, roads, parking, and other facilities so that natural features and vegetation would be retained with minimal disturbance.

The choice of materials and systems were based on quality, beauty, comfort, and sustainability, ultimately reflecting the natural elements of the location. Buildings are sited to provide unobstructed views from all units, while leaving view corridors through, between, and over buildings. The exposed timber construction, large window areas, cedar shingle siding, and wide overhangs evoke an informal “west coast” feel.

The legal structure is strata title fractional interest, which allows for shared ownership – an environmentally responsible, economically effective and maintenance free way to own recreational property. The suites are fully furnished and fully equipped. Owners have locked storage cupboards for personal belongings. The option to rent the suite and generate revenue is available if an owner does not want to use their time.

The negative edge pool, hot tub and exercise facility overlook the waterfront. THE RESTAURANT overlooks the marina and offers spectacular waterfront dining. THE SPA is a spectacular facility with treatment rooms, steam rooms and outdoor gardens with sauna, outdoor showers, waterfalls, fire pit, hot pool and salt water float pool. The slate floors, granite countertops, fir doors, heavy timber posts, vaulted ceilings, large windows and rich colours sooth the senses and create a space of peace and beauty.
